Welcome to Roosevelt High School!!!

End of Year Schedule- Update
Here is the latest update on schedules for the end of the school year.  This includes updates to extend the school year by 1 day for both senior and all other students including final exam dates.  See this SCHEDULE for the latest.  Go Riders!
End of Year Testing
Math and Biology EOCs, SBAC ELA and Personal Fitness CBA
We have an alphabet soup of testing opportunities for all grade levels fast approaching.  June 2nd and 4th are late arrival days, with testing starting at 7:50 a.m. and finishing at 9:45 a.m..  Class will then start at 9:50 a.m.

Students in all grades who have not yet met standards on an algebra or geometry end of year course exam (EOC) will take the math EOC on Tuesday June 2nd at 7:50am. ALL SOPHOMORES will take the biology EOC on Thursday June 4th at 7:50am.  Classroom assignments for both EOCs will be posted outside of the counseling office by June 1st.

ALL SENIORS WHO HAVE NOT TAKEN PERSONAL FITNESS AND DID NOT TAKE THE PERSONAL FITNESS CLASSROOM BASED ASSESSMENT LAST YEAR need to take the PE CBA, 9:00 a.m.in the Theatre (bring a pencil), June2nd for last name A-K, June 4th last name L-Z.  This is a graduation requirement and cannot be waived.   If you are unsure whether you need to take this test, talk to your counselor.  Here is a link to a short study guide for this required exam: Students who read the study guide will do fine on the test.

Juniors, you will have the chance to take the SBAC ELA on June 2nd and 4th. The test is no longer being given during U.S. History classes the third week of May but instead, juniors can take it at 7:50 a.m. on 6/2 and 6/4 (will need both days to complete this test).  Students will not miss any class time, will have the chance to help boost Roosevelt’s performance data,  will help the state of Washington avoid the loss of federal funds due to not enough juniors taking the ELA AND will have an opportunity, if a high enough score is achieved, to avoid having to take math and English placement tests for four year and two year colleges in the state of Washington.  Note: juniors who  still need the reading and writing HSPE for graduation, and took either or both test in March, we will get results in late May.  If you ended up not passing required HSPE tests, then you will need to take the SBAC ELA in June as another opportunity to meet required state exit testing. Computer lab room assignments for this test will be posted outside the Counseling Office by June 1.

Juniors who refuse to take the Smarter Balance ELA and who have not taken Personal Fitness are, along with seniors still needing this test, required to take the PE CBA, June 2nd last names A-K and June 4th last names L-Z, 9:00 a.m. in the Theatre.  As stated above, the PE CBA IS A GRADUATION REQUIREMENT. Juniors who choose to take the SBAC ELA instead will have an opportunity to take the PE CBA next year.

Registration Information
We are in the process of getting students signed up for classes and putting our master schedule together for the 2015-2016 school year.  Part of this is getting as accurate of an enrollment count as possible.   If your plans change and you won’t be attending Roosevelt:  families can now access the online Non-Attending link on Seattle Schools website. When on the SPS Home page, hover over Admissions and click the Enrollment page, click the Assignment and Waitlist look up for 2015-16. About ¾ down the page is the link for not attending. Parents/Guardians should have student(s) ID, and DOB to complete the process. Once completed it will come directly to the Enrollment inbox for processing.

If families do not have access to the Internet, they may need assistance and can call Enrollment at 206-252-0760.
