Worksite Learning: Earn HS credit for your Job!

Who & What: Do you have a job or internship or will have one soon? Great news! You can earn up to 1.0 CTE credits for work and internship experiences. To participate, students must meet the following criteria:

Student at Worksite Learning location, smiling and sweeping
  • Students must be at least 16 years old
  • Students must have a job or internship

To enroll in this program, students must complete the following:

  • Complete the Learning at Work interest form below
  • Complete the enrollment packet and return to your CCLC, Mr. Rho

To complete this program, students must complete at least 180 hours in one school year for 0.5 CTE credits or 360 for 1.0 CTE credits. Hours will not count until your enrollment has been approved.

What: Join us for an inspiring day with UNCF at our upcoming Stepping Toward Success fundraising brunch, followed by an exciting College and Career Fair. his event features insightful panels on HBCUs and career opportunities, giving you the chance to connect with educators, admissions counselors, professionals, and like-minded pears. Plus, there will be music, dancing, prizes and more!! Don’t miss this amazing opportunity!! Admission is free!

Fred Hutch: Veterinary Medicine and Pathology

What: To promote awareness of veterinary medicine and veterinary pathology field among high school. Program structure:

  • Lunch and support for transportation provided
  • Round table and one-on-one meet and greet with professionals from 8+ years veterinary medicine career paths
  • Annual Meeting tour and poster hall exhibition viewing

Seattle Police Explore

Explorer Seattle Police

The Seattle Police Law Enforcement Exploring program aims to bridge the gap between youth and police by educating and involving them in police operations and to interest them in Law Enforcement.

Who: Exploring is for young men and women 14 to 21 years of age with a grade point average of 2.5 or above

When: must attend 2 – 4 monthly meetings in succession.

Cost: Free

ACE Mentor Program Architecture Construction Engineering

ACE Mentor Program

Who: 9th – 12th

What: Mentorship Program for students interested in Architecture, Structural/Civil Engineering, Construction, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and more! ACE is an after-school mentor program for high school students. The program offers students the change to work with professionals from leading firms in Seattle, Bellevue, and Tacoma. Students will complete hands-on activities, office hours, videos, and design projects.

Where: In-person meetings from November-May (may be a virtual options), students meet with mentors for 15 two-hour sessions

Foundry10: Art Residency Program (Paid)

Who:  Age 16-20 years old at hire

What: foundry10 and The Vera Project are starting a paid Artist Residency opportunity for young visual artists, ages 16-20! This program is a unique chance for youth to dive deeper into their creative practice, build artistic community, and show their work at a culminating show at the Vera Project’s gallery space.

  • Opportunity to exhibit art at The Vera Project during the month of May 2025
  • Artist in residents paid $25 per hour (up to 20 hours per month)
  • Materials stipend of $500 provided
  • Opportunity to build out a body of work and learn from guest artists
  • A supportive community of practice that encourages collaboration and creativity

Aeronautical Science Pathway Program

Aeronautical Science Pathway Have a Passion for Aviation?

Who: 11th & 12th graders

What: Aeronautical Science Pathway (ASP) is a program for high school juniors and seniors who want to become professional pilots or work in drone operations, air traffic control, airport management, airline dispatch, or any other aviation operations management fields. Offered at no cost to you!

  • Includes six college-level courses each year
  • Opportunity to earn 3 high school credits and 30 college credits each year
  • Increase leadership and communication skills
  • Develop job interview skills
  • Mentoring by industry leaders
  • Internship & scholarship opportunities

When: Monday through Thursday from 3:45 PM to 6:00 PM

What: Youth in Focus is committed to making sure you have a place to be creative, heard, foster community, and connect with your peers. Check out our new classes below and sign up for one or more.

All Youth in Focus programs are free, and we provide free bus passes if needed. All supplies and equipment are provided. Your donation helps cover the cost of our amazing art educators, equipment, and program space. We are committed to equitable arts access for ALL youth.

Need Volunteers: LEAP Program

Leap at Pasado's Safe Haven 
A revolutionary new humane education program putting ethics, animals, and the planet at the front of our learning.

Who: 9th – 12th Grade 

What: Leaders for Ethics, Animals, and the Planet (LEAP) is returning to Pasado’s this year! LEAP offers community building, leadership training, and hands-on learning that focuses on animal rescue and care, introductory veterinary medicine, ethics, the impacts of the current food system on the environment and human rights, as well as climate solutions and the future of animal welfare. As part of the LEAP program, students will participate in collaborative lessons along with opportunities to learn from professionals in fields such as animal law, food science, veterinary medicine, sanctuary management, renewable energy, and more.

Where: Pasado’s Safe Haven

Benefits:

  • Hands On Service Hours with Animals – LEAPers will complete at least four service hours per month getting training in animal care, sanctuary management, and introductory veterinary medicine
  • Leadership and Community Building – LEAP promotes leadership development through animal advocacy,  public speaking, and community engagement. Teens will also have the opportunity to connect with other like-minded teens wanting to improve the world!
  • Scholarship Opportunities – After completion of a LEAP program year, participants will have the chance to complete projects for a chance to win up to $1000 in scholarship for education OR job training opportunities.

School Connect Washington

What: School Connect WA provides after school literacy and math tutoring/programming for BIPOC and McKinney Vento children in Seattle Public Schools. We have recently partnered with Bagley Elementary School and Bethany Community Church – Green Lake to provide tutoring for 1st-5th graders. Since Bagley Elementary is not too far from Roosevelt it would be an easy commute for any students who are interested in volunteering.

Seattle Urban League: Connection Crew Program

Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle

Who: 9th – 12th

What: Want to help shape a more inclusive and connected Roosevelt school community? Earn 60 service-learning credits? Then, join the Connections Crew at Roosevelt High SchoolThe Connections program aims to build a strong sense of belonging for EVERYONE at Roosevelt. Over one year, 12 lucky crew members (students) will facilitate fun activities, bringing together diverse groups of their peers. 

When:

  • In semester 1, crew members LEARN by participating in fun workshops and field trips.  Interactive workshops are held once a week after school.  Field trips are biweekly (once every two weeks). Semester 1 programming is from October 8th to January 28th.
  • Throughout semester 2, the Connections Crew gets to work DOING as they plan and lead various FUNDED activities for their peers.
