Enrollment Information
Important info for next year’s 9th graders and new students:
- Private School families must enroll with SPS Admissions first. Students living in our assignment zone will be assigned to RHS. Outside our zone, use Choice option. Open Enrollment for choice assignment is Jan. 5-31.
- Current SPS Middle School Students are automatically assigned.
- Counselors are here today for questions or call the Counseling Office.
- Registration Materials are emailed out to parents in March. Be sure your email info is correct in our district’s student database.
- Questions: Email our Registrar, Dana Miller dtmiller@seattleschools.org for questions about Enrollment or registration.
Open Enrollment for School Choice
2026-27 School Choice is Now Open!
Every current Seattle Public Schools student is assigned to their attendance area school based on where they live. Families can also apply to request that their student attend a different school through the Open Enrollment for School Choice process.
If there are more applications than seats available for a particular school and grade, then certain tiebreakers are used to determine assignment and waitlist status.
Applications received in January will receive priority. SPS will accept late School Choice forms until March 31. These applications are prioritized based on the date the application is received but with no tiebreakers. If no seats are available, applicants are placed at the end of the waitlist. Waitlists will be dissolved on May 31.
