Lifelong Thrift
Lifelong was formed in 2001 through the merger of two different non-profit organizations founded in response to the AIDS epidemic in the Seattle community – Chicken Soup Brigade and Northwest AIDS Foundation. These organizations had similar goals – to provide for the individuals suffering these chronic conditions from home care, rides to church or the doctor, to providing food. In order to promote the cause, thrift stores were opened to serve as a place of funding. Lifelong are now taking applications for being a store Volunteer! Lifelong will have 2-3 hour shifts each day they are open, which is Tuesday – Saturday at this time. Please fill out an application and join Lifelong today!

Little Bit Therapeautic Riding Center
Little Bit was founded in 1976 by a small group of volunteers, and volunteers remain at the heart of our operation today. The time, knowledge, and passion of more than 1,000 volunteers annually to achieve a level of service that would otherwise not be possible. Volunteering Opportunities includes:

Woodland Park Zoo Corps
Volunteers are ambassadors for Woodland Park Zoo and an important part of our zoo team. We seek individuals who are excited about engaging with the zoo’s mission to save wildlife and inspire everyone to make conservation a priority in their lives.
The primary focus of our volunteers is engaging with zoo guests by offering assistance and information, facilitating extraordinary zoo experiences and helping at a variety of special events. Once in the program, volunteers also have the opportunity to apply and interview for positions in other aspects of the zoo’s operations including animal care, horticulture, education and leadership roles within the Volunteer Program.

Treehouse
Treehouse envisions–and strives to create–a world where every child that has experienced foster care has the opportunities and support they need to pursue their dreams and launch successfully into adulthood. Treehouse now has ongoing roles and occasional one-time shifts available for individual volunteers in the Treehouse Store. Please see a description of these roles below. Effective October 18, 2021, all Treehouse volunteers must be vaccinated in order to participate in any in-person volunteer opportunity.

Outdoors For All
The Outdoors for All Foundation transforms lives through outdoor recreation. Founded in 1979 in the Pacific Northwest, Outdoors for All is a national leader in delivering adaptive and therapeutic recreation for children and adults with disabilities. Winter Volunteer Registration will open around October 15th. Please come back and apply!

Teen Feed
Are you a passionate and talented person who wants to make a difference with your time? Are you willing to be inclusive, compassionate and reliable? Our volunteers are staff. You are the life-blood of Teen Feed. Nightly Advocates serve as mentors and community ambassadors for our team. The first step to becoming a volunteer at Teen Feed is our Volunteer Orientation (currently remote).
COVID-19 Announcement: Preliminary New Volunteer orientation and trainings are online Due to Washington State and CDC COVID Restrictions. Advocate, Outreach, and Kitchen Lead volunteer positions require in-person shadow training shifts using safe COVID protocols. Those who are already trained, please continue to join us nightly.
Arboretum Foundation
enhance one of the Pacific Northwest’s great treasures: Washington Park Arboretum. Volunteering here is a wonderful way to build community, protect your local environment, earn community-service credits, spend time outdoors, and increase your knowledge of plants and trees.

First Place
The First Place Housing Program provides on-site housing at Imani Village and provides housing support services, vouchers, and counseling to families. Volunteers are a vital part of Frist Place programs and activities to help children (preschool/3-5 years of age) learn.
