SUMMER PRACTICES begin July 9th at Cowen Park, just south of Roosevelt HS. We run Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Please bring a water bottle!

The Girls XC team competes in the fall in the Metro 3A League. We are one of the few "no-cut" sports, meaning everyone who is academically eligible and adhering to team expectations, is able to compete. From varsity level athletes competing at state to girls experiencing running for the first time, the Rider Runners are a spirited, inclusive group. We have a pace group for every ability and welcome new girls to our team.

PRACTICES: Summer training is a must to be fit to run a 5K in September. Check the Girls' XC web page for schedule and location. Bring a friend and a water bottle!, click on Athletics, Teams and Contact Info, and see Girls XC.

OFFICIAL LEAGUE PRACTICES: begin late August. 10 practices are required to compete. We meet at the Roosevelt Track. Details will be on the web page.
Afterschool begins the team meets in the locker room every day.
Athletes are EXPECTED to run 4 days a week and encouraged to turn out each day. XC athletes are expected to commit to the entire season until the end of October. Parents can help support the program by volunteering at meets, signing up for snacks, and helping with fundraising through the Athletic Boosters.

MEETS: Usually every Wednesday or Thursday with 3 Saturday invitationals. The full schedule will be on

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: The district requires a physical and proof of insurance. Forms can be found on the RHS website under Athletics. Physicals are good for 2 years but paperwork MUST be filled out prior to beginning of school EACH YEAR.
