    2021 NASA STEM Enhancement in Earth and Space Science Internship

    NASA, the Texas Space Grant Consortium, and The University of Texas at Austin Center for Space Research have joined forces to encourage high school students’ interest in STEM careers. The STEM Enhancement in Earth Science project allows students to work remotely prior to their onsite internships in Austin, Texas, July 17-31, 2021, or to participate in a virtual project. Participants conduct authentic research while working with scientists and engineers in their chosen areas of work. Housing, transportation, and meals will be provided.

    ISB (Institute for Systems Biology) High School Summer Internship (PAID)

    ISB is offering 8-week PAID summer research internships for rising seniors (juniors) to learn complete systems of biology research and work with many specialists, directly involving in a variety of projects, using many types of technology and techniques, gain valuable microbiology, engineering, and computational experience. If you are enthusiastic about interdisciplinary research and the practice of systems biology and systems thinking and would like more information about an internship.

     Fred Hutch Summer High School Internship Program (PAID)

    This is an eight-week, full-time paid internship for rising 12th graders. The program is specifically designed for students from backgrounds underrepresented in biomedical science. Selected interns attend an orientation day, then begin the internship with one week of hands-on training on laboratory safety techniques and skills in the Fred Hutch Training Labs.

    Teens in Public Service Internship (PAID)

    Teens In Public Service is a not-for-profit dedicated to developing future leaders committed to their communities. TIPS selects teenage leaders for paid community service internships and pairs them with charitable organizations over the summer.

    Through our Summer Internship Program, TIPS provides paid summer internships for enrolled, high school youth at local nonprofit organizations. These internships offer teens practical work experience, an understanding of ethical leadership, and a venue to put their values into action; and, our nonprofits gain additional staff during the summer months, at no cost to their organizations. The application is due by March 5th, 2021. Information and Application

    Young Scholars Program-REACH | Center for NeurotechnologyYoung Scholars Program - REACH 2021 Summer Program 

    The Center for Neurotechnology (CNT) at the University of Washington sponsors a five-day “YSP-REACH” program on the Seattle Campus during the summer. The goal is to provide students with exposure to the field of neural engineering and provide basic preparation for college studies in STEM subjects as well as future STEM careers. High school students receive an introduction to neuroscience and neural engineering, neuroethics, scientific communication, and the latest developments in brain-computer interfaces.

    If the program is held in-person, the cost will be $500/student; if the program is held online, the cost will be $100/student.  Scholarships to cover the costs for some students will be available

     Application for the 2021 Summer YSP-REACH program is now available with a receipt deadline of March 1, 2021.

    UW Nursing Summer Symposium | School of Nursing

    There will be a fully online Nursing Summer Symposium. Current high school sophomores and juniors who are interested in learning about the nursing field and how to get into nursing school are invited to apply.
