Leadership Update

Dear Roosevelt families and staff,

I am pleased to announce Ms. Tami Brewer as the Principal of Roosevelt High School who will be replacing Mr. Que Hollins, who is leaving Seattle Public Schools.

Ms. Brewer brings an extensive background having served as an assistant principal for five years, an academic intervention specialist and levy coordinator for four years, and a high school classroom instructor and adjunct professor and assistant professor at Northwest University and Seattle Pacific University for over a decade.

In addition to her strength as an academic leader, Ms. Brewer has a strong commitment to student and staff wellness and relationship; has a proven record of equity focused leadership and development; is absolutely committed to our students and families furthest from educational justice; and believes in transparent and collaborative leadership. She is committed to bringing the Roosevelt community together and helping them begin moving forward in the coming year.

While her official start date will be Friday, July 1, 2022, she is excited to begin her work at Roosevelt, and will begin the process of connecting with staff, families, and students during the final weeks of the current school year, as well as during the summer months.

At the same time, we want to again thank Assistant Principals Jessica Proctor, Roy Merca, and Mike Kelly, for their commitment to the staff and students of Roosevelt since early January.

Dr. Brent Jones
Superintendent
