Frequently Asked Questions
Meet current students and the orchestra director, Christine Gero! We will address questions such as:
Q: Do I need experience on an instrument?
A: No, orchestra takes everyone and experienced students often opt to switch instruments to learn something new such as the harp!
Q: Is there an audition for incoming 9th graders?
A: No, all 9th graders register for the Concert Orchestra course.
Q: Is orchestra an after school activity?
A: No, with the exception of our four concerts and occasional dress rehearsals and activities. Otherwise, orchestra is a class that meets during the school day.
Q: How do I squeeze in PE, health, a world language, and orchestra?
A: You can waive PE and take health in 10th grade now that the social studies class is a single semester. That leaves room for four years of orchestra and a world language.
