    Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA)

    These assessments determine students’ progress toward graduation and college, career readiness in English language arts/literacy (ELA) and Math.

    All 10th graders will take the Smarter Balanced Assessments in English Language Arts and Math this spring during the testing window of March and April. Any 11th and 12th graders who have not yet passed the exams will have the opportunity to retake the SBA exams in early November and again in March and April.

    SBA ELA & MATH Retakes Off-Grade Tests | Dates TBD | Library Computer Lab | All 11th & 12th graders who need it for graduation and 10th graders who need accommodations.

    SBA ELA | 10th Graders Dates and Place TBD | for two 3-hour blocks over 2 days.


    SBA Math | 10th Graders Dates and Place TBD | for one 3-hour block.

     

    To help you better prepare visit https://wa.portal.airast.org/training-tests.stml  to take training and/or practice tests. This is very helpful if you are taking the retake or just want extra review before the test.

    Want to practice and try the SBA ?

    •  Click “Sign In” at the bottom of the page.

    •  Choose “Grade 11” from the drop-down menu.

    •  PRACTICE tests are YELLOW.   These are sample exams.  Choose from the following:

    •  TRAINING tests are BLUE or PINK.  They show you what kind of questions the test will have.  Choose from the following:

    Roosevelt Juniors SAT Information
    ​School Day SAT is Wednesday, March 6, 2019

    The SAT with essay is offered at no charge to all RHS Juniors. Families do not need to do anything to sign-up. All current juniors were registered by the SPS district.   

    If students are interested in additional SAT testing please visit the CollegeBoard website for a complete list of test and registration dates and locations.  The next non-school sponsored SAT is Saturday, March 9, 2019, various locations and fees apply.     Roosevelt High School Juniors SAT Testing Day Details

    Roosevelt Students need to bring:

      Photo ID (school ID is fine)

      two #2 pencils

    an approved calculator, scientific or graphing is recommended but not required

    Students Should Not Bring: 
    (These items are NOT permitted in the testing rooms per College Board regulations)

    WA Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) 

    All 11th graders are required to take the WCAS this spring in late May as a Federal Accountability Requirement. The class of 2021 and 2022 will be required to take and pass the WCAS as a State Graduation Requirement the spring of their junior year.

    AP Exams Info

    Registration: 
    Roosevelt High School offers AP exams for students who are enrolled in an AP course at Roosevelt or another Seattle Public Schools high school. Please contact the office of 
    Advanced Learning with any questions regarding AP testing for students who do not meet this requirement.

    We will be using the Total Registration site again this year for AP registration. Students will register at  
    https://user.totalregistration.net/AP/481140

    Registration will begin on Friday, February 1st at 8:00 am and closes Thursday, February 28th at 4:00 pm. Each exam will cost $105 and payment will be made through SchoolPay via the Source. Students will complete their pre-administration session online during registration and their responses will be printed on their answer sheet.

    We will continue to offer a reduced price of $15 per exam for students who qualify for F/R lunch. Students who qualify for F/R lunch will register using Total Registration and make payment (Cash or Check) with Sandi Mann in the fiscal office.

    Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the time listed below. The times listed are the times the AP Exam will start. Students arriving after the start of the exam will forfeit their exam.
